Our papers are sourced from skilled artisans and specialist makers in countries such as Thailand, India, and Nepal, where traditional papermaking techniques have been passed down for generations. From delicate Lokta paper handmade in Nepal, to richly textured artisan mulberry papers from Thailand, and strong Sunn Hemp fibre papers from India, each collection is selected with care for its beauty, strength, and versatility. Meet Jo Phillips
I’m Jo Phillips, the founder of Paperly. My world has always been full of colour, pattern and texture. I work as a surface pattern designer and have a deep love for paper in all its forms. What I love most is the way paper can completely change the feel of a project. It can add delicacy, strength, tradition or playfulness depending on what you choose.
Opening Paperly has allowed me to bring together this passion and share it with makers everywhere. I love hearing from artists, students, bookbinders and crafters who have found joy in using Paperly papers in their own projects. It makes me proud to know our sheets travel into collages, sketchbooks, lampshades, packaging and even digital designs across the world.
When I’m not designing or curating new collections, you will usually find me planning with Danny, who helps make sure your parcels are wrapped with care and sent safely on their way. Together we keep Paperly running with creativity at its heart.
